item 1 :
A person can make you feel high,
A person can make you feel low.
But only you can decide,
Which way you want to go.
A person can hurt you mentally,
A person can hurt you physically.
But only you can place,
A limit on your abilities.
A person can cause drama,
A person can cause a situation.
But only you can create,
Your own reputation.
A person can make you laugh,
A person can make you cry.
But only you can make,
Decisions for your life.
I guess what I am trying to say,
That when you are living day to day.
Do not live by what people do,
But live by what you know is true.
I.Rhetorical devices
1.antithesis: high><low, laugh><cry

A person can make you feel low.
A person can hurt you mentally,
A person can hurt you physically.
A person can cause drama,
A person can cause a situation.

A person can make you cry.
II.Message
whatever effects others make on you, you should take the wheel to drive your own life as the way you think it right.
item 2 :
I.Rhetorical devices:
irony: there are people dreaming of a white Christmas while others are stuck in snow storm and do not want it to snow anymore.
II.Message:
we should accept and respect the differences between people because the differences diversify our world.
item 3 :
The obstacle on our path
In
ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he
hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.
Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and
simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping
the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone
out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables.
On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and
tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing
and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his
load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the
boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from
the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the
boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many others
never understand.
I.Rhetorical device:
metaphor : the boulder on the roadway- obstacles in our life
the peasant- people who are willing to solve difficult problems rather than being irresponsible for them.
II.Message:
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one's condition.

Trả lờiXóaI think the massage is we should sastisfy with our own situation because, possiblely, the scene that we dream about is not good as we imagine.
You should add the name, author of item 1 and the sources for three of them
Trả lờiXóaBelow are my personal thoughts towards item 2 and 3
- item 2: it's the same thing "snow" but there is two sides: the joyful Christmas with snowflakes and being stuck in the snow (pay attention to "meanwhile, in the east..."). it's like a problem which has bad sides and good sides and we are the ones who can choose to "look at the bright side" or not
- item 3: i am not quite sure but mine is: there are chances that we may miss without even knowing their exist so the lesson is grab the chances
