Item1:
Item 2:
- Stereotype
- Analysis: the picture shows that every person who works in
a specific career will certainly has common features such as the taxi driver
always owns a “ bald head” or an I.T guy sticks to glasses. Actually, not all
workers in their job always appear with those same marks.
Item 3
- Discrimination
- Analysis: The high heels stand for women and the black
shoes are for men. We can recognize easily that men and women are not equal in
the picture, men predominate over women. This reflects the sex discrimination
at work or life in our society.
- Bias at the first news
- Analysis: Two pieces of news were published online with a
similar situation but difference in the way that the writers tell the story (Quynh
Anh - a candidate of Vietnam got talent involved in a media scandal). In the
first one, it says “Thí sinh Vietnam got talent Quỳnh Anh tiếp tục “quăng bom” ” , but in the second one (with
an opposite attitude) writes “ Quỳnh Anh got talent viết thư kêu cứu quốc hội”.
It seems that the first writer are trying to make readers think of Quynh Anh’s
story negatively but the other sympathizes for her.
all of the 3 items are quite good! However, I think the third is not bias in the first news. Moreover, you should add the sources of the items. That's all.
Trả lờiXóahonestly, i don't agree with your analysis on item 2.just only two pairs of shoes and they don't show anymore hide meaning. The meaning that you draw and analyse may be not the real content of this picture. I also understand that this picture show the role of women and men in life, for example
Trả lờiXóaitem 3:
Trả lờiXóai think your 3rd item do not show any bias, those newspaper it includes negative words, but I cannot see any statistic that show bias
item 2:
i see 2 shoes, and nothing left. I do not see any action, so I think prejudice is a more suitable word
Hi Duyen,
Trả lờiXóayou should choose just 1 picture in your entry instate of analyzing 2 pictures. in addition, i have some minor comments
item 3: it not really bias, the author just show 2 sides of 1 news
